Enjoying the Nice CA Weather

Seoul was really hot and humid. A lot of times, I simply didn't want to go out because it was unpleasantly hot. It's so nice to be back home to wonderful California weather.

We spent the morning at the park.

And the afternoon at the pool. I'm hoping all the fun out in the sun will help them magically snap out of jet lag.

Back Home

It was our first real day (yesterday is just a big blur) back from Korea. Kids are very jet lagged. After their evening "nap", they were up around midnight and didn't go back to sleep until the crack of dawn. They didn't get up until noon today.

I needed to get these kids moving and tired out. So we hit the pool.

We saw Harlee at the pool.

Audrey's friend June was at the pool, too.

It was getting a little cold so we dried up, had a quick snack and headed home. 

After dinner, we pulled out our bikes. The kids really missed their bikes while in Seoul so it was a lot of fun for them. 

Visit to Seoul

The kids and I spent 3.5 weeks in Seoul, visiting both sets of grandparents and close family/friends. In joined us for the last leg of the trip. (I didn't take my big camera everywhere so most of the photos were taken with the iPhone.)

We stayed at my parents place the whole time we were in Seoul. I haven't been to Korea in a long time (first time for Audrey and Elliot) and my parents moved into a brand new place a couple of years ago so I was looking forward to their new pad. It looked awesome. Audrey now knows what high rise building are. They don't exist in Menlo Park for sure.

My parents live in a huge complex so there are multiple parks and play structures scattered throughout. We went out looking for new spots every day.

We also went to a lot of indoor kids play cafes. It was a must with the weather being hot out.

One place we went to (Pororo Park) was like one huge mini amusement park for the little ones.

 

 

This craft-centric cafe was Audrey's favorite. We had to go back for a second time the very next day.

The kids got to see a couple of shows.

We hung out with our cousins.

We also got to meet our new cousin (my brother's new baby girl).

We went on an overnight trip to outskirts of Seoul. Nice change of scenery.

I was terrified of the sleeping arrangement. The three of us slept on the floor. Together. (Thankfully it was only for one night.)

Audrey and Elliot absolutely loved riding public transportation while in Seoul. (You really don't need a car in Seoul. The entire city can be accessed via buses, subways, and taxis.)

Ice cream, cake, cookies, shaved ice....our sometimes food became our everyday food. They were completely spoiled.

No toys, but we made the best of it.

We got haircuts.

We all had a really great time.

Ride back home was a breeze. Both kids slept more than half the flight.

We will miss you all!
