He absolutely loves to sit in the front seat of the car (when the car is parked of course) and push all the buttons and turn all the dials. 

We had a very wet mud all over his pants incident and had to go straight home with no pants on. He was not happy about this.

Audrey's two best buddies from school came over for a playdate.

Cat in the Hat

I took the kids to see Cat in the Hat at the Children's Theater in Palo Alto. It was a very cute, short play based on the famous book. It followed the book almost word for word and Audrey really enjoyed the play. Elliot on the other hand was a little bit afraid of the Cat in the Hat (I don't blame him, he was a little creepy looking.), but he ended up watching the whole thing on my lap.

We went with Audrey's friend Max from school.

Movie Frozen

We went to see a kid friendly viewing (no previews, lights kept on, volume turned down) of the movie Frozen with some of Audrey's classmates.

Audrey does not do well with TV/movies. She takes them too seriously and gets very upset with how the characters get in trouble, etc. She's been wanting to see Frozen since a lot of her friends have seen it, but I knew going in that Frozen would be a hard movie for her to watch. Audrey was very excited to see her friends at the theater, get loads of popcorn and have a special outing with her friends, but only 5 minutes into the movie when one of the characters got sick, she was already a bit teary eyed. 45 minutes later, she was done. She told me she didn't want to see anymore, so we left.

But I know she still had a fun time being at the movie theater and seeing her friends.

There are a few things Elliot really enjoys at music class. Putting away the bucket full of instruments is one of them for sure.

Lazy Weekend

Both kids were sick all weekend, but we still got to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Ice Skating Lesson

Audrey had her very first ice skating lesson today after school. She is taking the class with her friend Connor, and it turns out there are a couple of more familiar faces in the group class from her school. She had a good time and can't wait for her next session.

One More Christmas

Our next door neighbors Ted and Ursula invited the kids over so they can check out all the Christmas decorations around their house. Ursula told me she was putting away the Christmas deco this week, so it was Audrey and Elliot's last chance to see it. They are an older retired couple with no kids, so the house had all these fragile things that made me very nervous. But the kids really enjoyed all the cool things (which translates into things that we don't have around the house - glass, porcelain, candles, etc.) that Ted and Ursula had around the house.

Ted made pasta for the kids and they both gobbled it down....and this was right after we ate dinner at home. Wow, he even warmed up fancy dishes in the oven. (We couldn't use them of course.)

It was a nice Christmas treat in January.

@ 26 months old. Elliot is finally finally finally bib-free.

New Keyboard

We got Audrey a cheap keyboard so we can start her off in piano lessons. We are going to try group piano lessons first and see how she likes the piano, and then probably move on to private lessons. Lessons don't start until end of the month, but she's having fun with the keyboard for now.

Snowflake

We made a beautiful snowflake with a simple pipe cleaner and a lot of borax. It turned out like crystals!

Haircut for Elliot

Elliot got a haircut this morning.

Enjoying his little treat from the hair salon after his haircut. I am not crazy about this part, but the kid sits still during his haircut at this place, so I gotta do what I gotta do...

New Outfit

Bed Time

Elliot likes to snuggle in Audrey's bed when I read Audrey her bedtime story. We say good night to her, and after that, he gets one more book in his own room before it's lights out for him too.
