Oh what to do with all that candy! I packed up all the treats for In to take to the office the next day. Out of sight, out of mind. Okay, I am so over Halloween now, let's move on to the next holiday.

Trick of Treat
I've never taken the kids neighborhood trick or treating at night. Since the kids go to bed pretty early, I've only taken them to day time events. But this year, we had dinner at a friend's house and then went trick or treating with them for a little bit. Audrey and Matthew had a blast going from one house to the next. Caroline kept up with the older kids. Elliot was always behind but didn't miss anything.
Kindergarten Halloween Parade & Party
Audrey's school had a Halloween parade and party. All the kids looked really cute in their costumes.

Almost Halloween
In the morning, Elliot's music class sang special Halloween songs and a lot of the kids came in costume. Elliot is an astronaut for Halloween. Since Audrey is an astronaut for Halloween, so is Elliot. I thought about recycling one of Audrey's old costumes, but he wants to do everything that she does, so I just made it easy on myself by dressing him up in the same costume. He would have been a ballerina if Audrey was a ballerina for Halloween.
In the afternoon, we went to In's office for his firm's Halloween party.

Pumpkin Carving
We had a pumpkin carving playdate at a friend's house after school. I wasn't sure if the kids could carve the pumpkins on their own, or if it was even safe to do so for that matter. But the tools were dull, and the kids actually got really into it......for about 15 minutes. The grown ups had to finish up the carving.
Then, one by one, the kids started to lose interest and did their own thing.
Elliot fixated on the gated pool in the back yard.
And now we have a nice collection of pumpkins.

Elliot's 2nd Birthday Party
My Halloween baby boy is turning two soon! We had Elliot's 2nd birthday party at the Menlo Park Gym Center this weekend. I debated whether to throw another Halloween themed party like last year, but decided to have a construction themed party and I had a lot of fun with it.
I went for it this time and made the cake, cupcakes, marshmallow pops and the dump truck cookies.
Elliot's latest: Exposing his tummy.
When it was time to sing happy birthday and blow candles, he knew exactly what to do.

I don't think Elliot really knew what was going on, but he sure was in a good mood.
All the kids had a lot of fun playing in the gym facility. It was really nice to have the whole place all to ourselves.

Happy 2nd birthday sweet boy!
