California Academy of Sciences

We went to California Academy of Sciences in SF.

Christmas Tree

Audrey's been asking me when we are going to put up the Christmas tree for quite some time now, and I've been telling her after Thanks Giving. Well, she didn't forget. We spent all morning putting up our Christmas tree.

The 7.5 foot noble fir artificial tree I got last year after Christmas (on sale). It is so much bigger than our old one for sure.

We went ice skating in the afternoon.

At night, the tree looks even better! The kids love it.

Ornaments

Thanks Giving morning, the kids woke up super early (5:30! yikes!) and our morning was getting looooooong. So I decided to let them color the Christmas tree ornaments that we made with air-dry clay the other day. The kids have been waiting for them to dry for a few days, and it looked dry enough so we painted them with tempera paint.

We will hang them on our Christmas tree this year.

Friendship Soup @ Elliot's Preschool

Elliot's preschool had friendship soup to celebrate Thanks Giving. Each kid shared what they were thankful for and Elliot said he was thankful for bread. So random yet very age appropriate!

I know it's early but I usually take the kids to see Santa Claus in November...main reason is to avoid the crazy lines come December.

Audrey was excited to finally wear her new red dress she hand picked a few weeks ago.

Elliot got talked into coming, but wasn't quite sure about the whole idea. (He screamed and cried the last 2 years he met Santa.)

Yes, it finally rained a little again in California. Elliot enjoyed walking in the puddles.

Bagels & Books

Audrey's class had a small book reading event where the parents were invited to read some of the stories that the kids have been writing and also read books that the kids have been reading over the past few months.

She showed me the book that she published. (Jelly Belly Factory. It was about our trip to the Jelly Belly Factory.)

Audrey showed off her artwork as well. (mermaid on the bottom)

She showed me her poem journal along with a bunch of other things she's been working on at school.

She's such a big girl now! (Elliot was just happy to be getting a juice box.)

Construction Zone

Elliot is obsessed with construction vehicles. You name it, he knows them all. The garbage truck is also very popular.

He missed preschool today with a cold. We entertained ourselves with custom eyewear.
