Preschool Field Trip

Audrey's class went on a field trip to the Portola Valley & Alpine Railroad. I'd never heard of the place and did not know what to expect....it was a pleasant surprise. Who would of thought such a place existed and so close by! I felt like I was in Disneyland or something. There were several mini-size trains that were operated on mini-size rails that spread quite extensively around a private property in Portola Valley. It's basically train enthusiasts laying out tracks and driving their toy trains on them. It's not open to the public, but one of the teachers' father is a member of the railroad club, so the kids (and even the grown ups!) got a very special treat riding the trains today.

Of course Elliot tagged along, and he did really well. He enjoyed riding the trains shrunk to his size.

All aboard!

The kids had a blast!

Hello, Summer!

Summer is rolling in. It's getting pretty hot and there are lots of fun things happening. I decided to brave the crowd and took the kids to PAMP's Family Picnic Day at Burgess Park in the morning. Because we went as soon as it started, there weren't that many people and we didn't have to wait for any of the activities, so it was great. What got to me was the heat. The sun was just unbearably strong. But the kids still had a great time.

Elliot got a flower balloon from the balloon artist.

Face painting was on top of Audrey's list. She wanted a cat on her face.

In the afternoon, Audrey went to Jake & Jame's birthday party. The two boys from preschool hosted a joint party. (What a great idea!) The balloon artist was simply amazing, the best I've seen. Audrey came home with at least 5 balloon animals, 3 swords, 2 flowers, and a crown.

Jumpy house action.

Cake time.
